On this Sunday, our church family gathered for Brunch Church in the fellowship hall Sunday at 10:45 am, with a dish to pass. The congregation served themselves and then was seated at a table to begin worship around 11 am. Those on Zoom were encouraged to have their own elements for communion and to take part in their own “table conversation” for the second half of the service. Sacred Text came from: Hebrews 10:24-25. Jon S. offered music. We also offered our gratitude to Anna and Aster for their service.

11 am Worship: Sacred text focus this Sunday was from the Acts of the Apostles 2: 43-47. We received music by the choir and Tim and Karin B. We also received communion and anointing with oil at the close of worship. Directly following Worship, a congregational conversation took place, discussing two of the recommendations of Convergence based on our congregational assessment. On this Sunday, we focused on the story from Luke 24: 13-35, the Road to Emmaus and table community story. Marlin Y. shared reflections from his perspective, spending much of his life in the Mennonite tradition. August P. and Craig P. and Michael L. will share music. Margaret M. introduced us to the fall giving and stewardship time of invitation. Following worship, discussion took place about our worship experience and theme.

We focused on the sending out of the apostles in the Gospel of Luke. We received music of the Irving Street Ramblers, a closing with the Climate Hope Summer witness of Intern, Olena Withrow, and a time of sharing from the Konnoak Community Freedom School.
11 am Worship ~ We delved into meanings of communion, receive musical offerings of Jon S., and Tom E. We shared in communion at the close of worship. We encountered the interaction of Jesus with Zacchaeus in the scripture passages of Luke 19: 1-10. Rev. Michelle Johnson preached this week, the children’s choir and the chancel choir supplied wonderful music for the service and we shared communion, anointing, and candle-lighting during our time together.
