The Second Sunday conversation included Chapters 18 and 19, of My Grandmother’s Hands, reflecting on how “when strategy competes with culture, culture wins every time…” This Sunday, the Sixth Sunday of Easter, we reflected on the gift of the Advocate/Spirit/Comforter whom Jesus sends to companion all seekers. (John 14: 15-21). Ana T. and Bill D. shared a conversation about their experience with the Soul of Aging program earlier this year. We also received beautiful music from many in our congregation in this week’s service. Happy Mother’s Day to all Mother’s!

Sunday, March 26, 2023 – 11am Worship Service at Parkway UCC

We continued our series on touchstones for building trustworthy community. Our children’s choir sang. Larry S. and Jon S. both offered special music on this Sunday. We focused on the touchstone: “Learn to respond to others with honest open questions. Do not respond with counsel or corrections. Using honest, open questions helps us “hear earth other into deeper speech.” We couple the touchstone with several short questions offered by Jesus:

Matthew 8:26: “Why are you afraid?”

Matthew 16:15: “Who do you say that I am?”

Matthew 20:32: “What do you want me to do for you?”

Parkway UCC Sunday Worship Service- March 12, 2023

We continued our series on touchstones for creating trustworthy community with the touchstone “What is offered in community is by invitation, not demand. This is not a “share or die” space. Do whatever your soul calls for and know that you do it with our support. Your soul knows your needs better than we do.” We couple that touchstone with the sacred text of john 1: 35-39 of Jesus’ invitation to “Come and see.” Musicians will be Eugenia C., Anna K., and Sterling G.
